Rosegal scam? I placed an order and this is what came. For what seemed like weeks straight, my Facebook news feed was flooded with ads for a women’s fashion website called Rosegal. The website promises adorable sweaters for about $2. Placing the Order I took a leap and placed an order for a $4. I had been meaning to buy for weeks. Although, Rosegal’s website says it is trusted, I used Pay. Pal to complete my payment. If the option is there, and you have an inkling of self- doubt, do what feels right. This portion was straightforward. I paid and waited. This is what I ordered: The Order Process. I placed the order on Nov. The next day on Nov. I was notified that my order had shipped and was given a new reference number. It said the package would take 1. However, please understand this is an estimate. The shipping speed is outside our control and is dependent on the courier company,” the company said in an email. The problem here — I’ll elaborate later — is that Rosegal doesn’t mention what company does its shipping. I ran the confirmation numbers through tracking websites of a few major shipping companies: Fed. Ex, UPS and DHL. Nothing. Red flags started popping up, so I immediately Googled “rosegal scam,” and posts began popping up everywhere. It could have been too early to tell, so I waited a few days before I did more research. What Is This Company? Days later, I began to lose sleep over this. Was I the victim of a scam? I started to look into the company. Rosegal’s “About Us” section does not mention anything about where it is located or company leadership. There is no cofounder story, stylist blog or employee found on Linked. In. After going through several search terms, I didn’t find much useful information. The company is not registered with the Better Business Bureau (which doesn’t necessarily make it a scam) and was given an F grade. I did find out that it was located in Shenzhen, China. A website called Supplier. Blacklist. com claims that the company falls under the umbrella of the Yigou International Group, which allegedly owns Sammy. Girl. com and Dress. Lily. com. The types of complaints reported on the website included: “missed lead times, lack of labor and environmental compliance, scams and other unethical activities.”Complaints from users on sites like Ripoff. Report. com and Scamorg. Those who got their purchase in the mail, reported poor quality and incorrect sizing. Fashion Bloggers Weigh In. BUT STILL. Don’t do it. Update 3:31pm EDT: We told you!!!! Is the Rosegal scam real? The fashion website promises stylish clothes at cheap prices. I placed an order and here's what came in the mail. ![]() ![]() If I couldn’t get to the company, I would try to get to bloggers who have either purchased items independently or did sponsored reviews for Rosegal. A blogger named Sarah at My. Small. Rayof. Sunshine. In an email exchange with me, Sarah had this to say about her order from Rosegal: “I actually had no problems with my order! I know of all of the bad reviews as well, it made me very nervous after I placed my order but it went fine. It did take longer than the 7- 1. I can’t quite remember but I believe it took more than 2. But aside from that, my purchase fit fine and nothing was wrong with it!”A woman named Salina says the Rosegal gave her $3. She has a video review of items she bought on You. Tube. When I asked her for a contact at the company, she said she didn’t feel comfortable sharing that information. But she did say: “You get what you pay for on that site, so the price does reflect the quality.”How Is It Even Getting Here? Ten days later, I was getting antsy because I couldn’t track a package without the identity of the shipping company. On Nov. 1. 1, I submitted a support ticket on Rosegal. The company responded to me on the same day, but this time it gave me the name of the shipping company, a tracking number and a website address. A person named Maria wrote: “The tracking number: [Redacted], shipping method: Netherlands Post Registered, tracking site: http: //springglobalmailtracker. November 0. 4,2. 01. AM PST, estimated time: 1. So I gave my obsession with Rosegal a break. I marked my calendar for 2. Nov. 2. 8 — and called it a loss. IT FINALLY HAPPENEDOn Dec. I got this message from Rosegal: “Thank you for placing order with us. We are delighted to inform you that your package has arrived your local post office. Could you please contact them as soon as possible to get the package.”Indeed, by that time my order had arrived! And here are the results: This slideshow requires Java. Script. REVIEW: The jacket was smaller than I had expected. I ordered a medium, but it felt like a small. While it did fit and zipped up properly, you can see the sleeves are short and there isn’t much wiggle room. I definitely could not wear layers under this jacket, unless I took the faux- fur part off. Once the fur is taken off, I can wear a sweatshirt or sweater underneath comfortably. Overall, I’m content with the jacket. It’s not bad. There are a lot of small details that required more work than is typically seen on a discount fashion piece. It’s also warm enough, and kept me dry on a rainy day. FINAL VERDICT: While the company may be a bit sketchy because of a lack of transparency, it did actually deliver a product to me via mail — as promised. However, it took almost a month for it to arrive. UPDATE 7/1. 0/1. The jacket’s zipper gave out on me at the end of February — so about two months of light wear. I still wear the shell without the fur inside, and it’s fine. Not sure if I’ll ever order from them again, but it was a good experiment to run. Please share your stories below. It looks like some of you never got your orders. UPDATE 1. 2/1. 0/2. Thank You! I’m so heartened that this article is still continuing to guide your shopping decisions.
